Abstract Scope |
Magnesium silicide, Mg2Si, and related alloy compounds mixed with Mg2Ge and Mg2Sn are attractive materials for thermoelectric and thermophotovoltaic energy conversions. We developed growth methods to obtain high crystalline quality Mg2Si bulk from the melt and evaluated the effect of dopants and crystalline quality on thermoelectric and thermophotovoltaic properties. In this presentation, we discuss the possibility of Mg2Si and related compounds for thermoelectric and thermophotovoltaic applications. |
