Abstract Scope |
Thermoelectric materials have seen a lot of progresses in terms of figure of merit (zT) in the past 20 years or so but not so much in practical modules/devices, especially at the heat source of about 300 degree C. The main reason is that the materials performing well between 50 degree C and 300 degree C are rare, especially the ones with abundant supplies and good stability. We have been studying the materials for this temperature range and found that Zintls are promising. In this talk, I will present our preliminary success on enhancing the zT and power factor of some good Zintl materials and their performance in terms of efficiency and power output. |
