Abstract Scope |
Low-temperature transformation (LTT) welding wire was originally developed to mitigate residual stress in the weld. It could also be used for internal stress optimization in wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) process. In this study, a 26 layers LTT wall sample, which was fabricated by WAAM technique, was studied. The top layer of the sample shows 12.5% retained austenite with an ultimate tensile strength of 1145.75 MPa and elongation of 17.56%. In contrast, the middle layer exhibits 21.6% retained austenite with an ultimate tensile strength of 1168.88 MPa and elongation of 22.5%. The influence of thermal cycling on microstructural differences was discussed. |
