Abstract Scope |
Spot welding is widely applied in manufacturing products using sheet materials for rail, aerospace, electronic devices. Traditional spot welding processes such as MIG spot and TIG spot have many disadvantages, such as low reliability and efficiency. The resistance spot welding process has a limited pressing force and is mainly applied in overlap joints. Meanwhile, the Laser spot welding process has a high cost and constricted safety requirements.
Therefore, we have developed a novel hybrid Arc-Plasma-Spot welding process. This process can be an alternative approach to weld flexible objectives for various joint positions with low cost, high quality, and reliability. This investigation presents the influence of fundamental parameters on the spot profile, electrode wear, and arc plasma phenomena. |
