Abstract Scope |
Deformation induced microstructural changes are frequently investigated in the literature using a large variety of different techniques. Observing these changes and the evolution of the microsctructure in situ is much less common, due to the limited number of techniques providing insights non-destructively into metallic materials. The Swedish Materials Science beamline at PETRA III utilizes high-energy synchrotron radiation to obtain diffraction and/or imaging information. For several applications high energy synchrotron radiation hits the balance between penetration power and temporal resolution providing information from volumes of engineering relevance with a speed suitable to investigate real word conditions. In this talk, the combination of different techniques will be shown through examples of deformed microstructure characterization. |
