Abstract Scope |
Two-dimensional materials have gained significant attention because of their exciting electrical and optical properties for next-generation optoelectronic and photonic devices. It is, thus, critical to have controlled synthesis and integration of these materials onto both rigid and flexible substrates. However, the existing synthesis technique possesses limitations when it comes to direct patterning and integration on flexible substrates because of random nucleation and high growth temperatures. Here we present an additive nanomanufacturing method utilizing lasers, which allows for the integration of 2D materials onto both flexible and rigid substrates while achieving desired shapes and patterns is shown. Nanoparticles of the 2D material from the solid target material are obtained by using laser ablation at room temperature. These nanoparticles are directed toward substrates and laser-sintered to form desired patterns, structures, and devices. An in-depth analysis of the structure and properties of the synthesized pattern is conducted to ensure their quality and performance. |
