Abstract Scope |
The use of recycled materials in the field of additive manufacturing is a solution that gives value to glass waste after its use in many countries, giving relief to a growing problem worldwide with the use of recycling. This investigation shows results for the use of waste glass bottles for the manufacture of bricks by the additive manufacturing technique using additives. Density, linear contraction, porosity, and water absorption tests were carried out to evaluate the technological properties of the material, a characterization of raw materials and products was also carried out by means of scanning electronic microscopy, diffraction of x-rays and x-ray fluorescence, to evaluate the microstructure of the samples. A compression test was included to elaborate a Weibull distribution analysis in order to know the variability of the composite samples and thus characterize the process of manufacturing bricks. |
