Abstract Scope |
FLiBe salt is to be selected as the coolant for molten salt nuclear reactors and as the liquid blanket for ARC (affordable, robust, compact) fusion reactors owing to high volumetric heat capacity, low vapor pressure, and producing tritium for fusion reaction. The impurities containing oxygen and hydrogen in ppm level in FLiBe salt influence the salt chemistry at high temperature, particularly for the corrosivity to alloys and the behavior of tritium. Therefore, high precision quantitative measurement of the O and H contents in FLiBe salt is urgently needed for developing the solution of molten salt circulation and tritium extraction systems in support of ARC fusion reactors. In this talk, we will present a newly established FLiBe salt laboratory at our company and a customized gas analyzer system preventing salt from exposure to air, as well as the results of O and H contents in various FLiBe salt samples. |
