Abstract Scope |
Functional and corrosion properties of additively manufactured parts is dictated by surface roughness and composition. An electrochemical process was developed to smooth the surface while also modifying the surface chemistry resulting in a gradient composition. This process has successfully been used to increase the chromium content on the surface of additively manufactured 316, creating a gradient alloy rather than simply plating a distinct coating. |
