Abstract Scope |
Mineral processing relies heavily on both manual and automated instrumentation to maintain process control. Plant design must include proper placement of instrumentation for process monitoring and metal balancing and how such instruments will tolerate exposure to the necessary reagents and solution pH for the desired mineral, coarse and fine high-density slurries, ability to recycle process water and temperature variation throughout the processing circuit. Hydrometallurgical processing plants must tolerate and take advantage of these different properties to effectively produce a high-grade and salable product. This presentation reviews some instrumentation practices seen in processes like floatation, vat and heap leaching and elutions. |
