Symposium Measurement and Control of High-temperature Processes
Presentation Title Radiometric Measurements, the Measurement of Last Resort
Author(s) Becky Olliges
On-Site Speaker (Planned) Becky Olliges
Abstract Scope In the world of process control, gamma gauges are an important component in the performance of critical level, density, flow, and moisture measurements. These measurement gauges work where conventional measuring technologies fail. They offer outstanding measurement results under extreme conditions. High temperatures, pressures, harsh environments, and other difficult ambient and process conditions are no problem for radiometric measurements. Typical measurement tasks include non-contact level on furnaces and forehearths; density measurements in various vessels and piping systems; bulk flow measurements on conveyor belts and screw conveyors; and real-time moisture measurement in coke, sinter mixture, ore, sand, and building materials.
