Abstract Scope |
Nickel-chromium powders with a core-shell form were synthesized using vibration assisted High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering. The binary metal powder was then sintered at varying parameters of time and temperature. A mixture of nickel and chromium at the same ratio as the core-shell powder was processed identically, and each resultant’s physical and chemical properties were compared. Powder characterization was conducted using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy to determine particle size distribution, morphology, and chemical composition. Similar analytical techniques were performed on the sintered compacts to determine sintering kinetics. |
