Abstract Scope |
Microstructures produced by additive manufacturing is intrinsically heterogeneous. Heterostructures have been found to produce unprecedented strength and ductility that are not accessible to their homogeneous counterparts. However, the heterostructures made by additive manufacturing usually don’t produce significant positive heterostructure effect. In this talk I’ll discuss the principles of heterostructured materials and optimum heterostructures for producing the best mechanical properties, which may help to guide the design of heterostructures in in AM processed materials. |
