Appropriate slag system composition and properties are the key to electroslag remelting process. In this paper, according to the characteristics and production process requirements of 18MnD5 steel for nuclear power, the composition of four-element and five-element slag system for electroslag remelting of 18MnD5 steel was determined by FactSage thermodynamic software and theoretical calculation method. Compared with the physical and chemical properties of traditional ANF-6 slag system, the slag system for electroslag remelting of 18MnD5 steel was determined. The results show that the four-element slag system (60≤CaF2≤70%,10%≤CaO≤13%,15%≤Al2O3≤20%,0%≤MgO≤2%) has better density, optical basicity and electrical conductivity characteristics than the other two slag systems, and the melting point and viscosity can meet the requirements of 18MnD5 steel electroslag remelting process. The research results can provide theoretical guidance for industrial production of electroslag remelting. |
