Abstract Scope |
A study was made of the metal of a bimetallic billet obtained by electroslag technology from steels AISI 420 and 3415. A technology been developed that makes it possible to obtain a bimetallic billet with a diameter of 50 to 250 mm and a weight of up to several hundred kilograms, consisting of a forged base and deposited electroslag metal. A feature of this study is the analysis of the quality of the metal of a bimetallic billet made of steels of dissimilar chemical composition, obtained by various production methods, which form a new combination of properties. Analysis of the chemical composition of the metal of the bimetallic billet established a change in the composition of carbon from 0.44% to 0.16%, chromium from 12.66% to 1.44%, nickel from 0% to 2.77%. The microstructural study confirmed the principle of directed crystallization in the formation of the electroslag part of the bimetal. |
