Abstract Scope |
As the electronics market, including smartphones and smart homes, expands, there is increasing demand for higher performance components such as inductors. The performance of inductors heavily relies on the properties of their core soft magnetic materials.
This study focuses on maximizing the content of ferromagnetic elements like Fe and Co to achieve low core loss in nanocrystals. However, increasing the ratio of ferromagnetic elements complicates the control of nanocrystalline size and distribution. We addressed this by incorporating two immiscible elements as nucleation sites within the amorphous matrix. Our designed composition demonstrated significantly higher saturation magnetic flux density (Bs) and comparable coercivity (Hc) to commercial nanocrystalline materials like Finemet. Furthermore, it allowed for easier thermal treatment for nanocrystal control compared to previously studied compositions, making it a promising candidate for high-performance inductor cores. |
