A series samples of ZrO2-SrO-BaO system are prepared and quenched from 1673 K to the room temperature, which are characterized by XRD and SEM/EDS methods to investigate the phase relations of the ZrO2-SrO-BaO system at 1673 K, the results show that there exist four solid solution phases, (Sr, Ba)ZrO3, (Sr, Ba)2ZrO4, (Sr, Ba)3Zr2O7 and (Sr, Ba)4Zr3O10. Based on the mentioned-above experiment section as well as the literature data, the ZrO2-SrO-BaO system is evaluated by the CALPHAD (CALculation of PHAse Diagram) method, the isothermal sections and a liquidus projection are calculated. The calculation results are in good agreement with the present experimental results, which proves that the database is self-consistent and reliable, and this work can be applied to the design of novel refractories. |
