Presentation Title High-Temperature Deformation Behavior of a Harmonic Structure Designed CrMnFeCoNi Alloy

Abstract Scope The Harmonic Structure (HS) design was applied to the high entropy CrMnFeCoNi (Cantor) alloy, and the high temperature deformation behavior of the alloy was studied by compression tests at various strain rates at 1073 K and 1173 K. The stress-strain curves of Homo and HS compacts were remarkably different and very unique. This is due to the grain refinement accompanied by the preferential dynamic recrystallization in the UFG network structure in the HS compacts during deformation. The HS compact was strongly dependent on the deformation temperature. The homogeneous compacts had a strain rate sensitivity value of m less than 0.3, while the HS compacts had m greater than 0.3, such as m: 0.541 at 1173K. In other words, the HS compacts exhibited pseudo-superplastic deformation, i.e., Harmonc Structure Deformation Induced (HSDI) softening.
