Abstract Scope |
Covalent organic frameworks (COF) have attracted much attention recently due to their porous crystal structures and high specific surface areas. In this study, silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) are grafted on polyimide-COF (PI-COF), mixed with TiO2 nanoparticles, and coated on the photoelectrode of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). The effect of PI-COF modified by Ag NPs with different sizes and weight percentages on the photovoltaic performance is investigated. The results show the highest power conversion efficiency of DSSC based on pristine TiO2 is 5.66%, and that based on TiO2 added with PI-COF is 5.85%. After PI-COF is modified by Ag NPs, the efficiency is increased to 6.16%. The improvement in efficiency can be attributed to the surface plasmon resonance effect of Ag NPs which improves the short-circuit current density, and it can be verified by using IPCE. EIS is used to analyze the electron transfer behavior between the interfaces inside the DSSC.
