Abstract Scope |
Additive manufacturing technologies are not only attractive from a research point of view, but are increasingly being integrated into existing industrial process chains. Additive manufacturing processes such as build-up welding offer several advantages compared to conventional material removal processes: On the one hand, they can deposit material with the required properties where it is needed, on the other hand it is possible to adjust graded material properties.
In the currently running, BMBF funded project of TUBAF with partners METROM and GEFERTEC exactly this issue is to be solved - the implementation of a 5-axis WAAM system, not as a gantry system with the axes x, y, z and a and c , but integrated into the parallel kinematic movement concept of the company METROM. All path geometries and associated directions and direction changes must be realized by the tool spindle or by controlling the movement spindles, outside the PA position. |
