Abstract Scope |
This work aims to develop a Digital Twin for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) for A205 Al-alloy, addressing both the internal defects development (lack of fusion, keyhole pores, etc...) and macro-scale structural defects when building thin-walled features or through-holes. Data were generated through varying the process parameters and measuring the build density and specific structural features in designed benchmarks. The data was fed into the digital twin model to identify the high density conditions, and enable the prediction of high density and high throughput (build speed) beyond the investigated parameters window. The model will be expanded to assess the mechanical properties within the highly dense (>99%) conditions. |
