Abstract Scope Laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) has reached the highest maturity in additive manufacturing, which enables it to be adopted by various industries, mainly aerospace and medical. There are a great variety of open and closed source machines for L-PBF available in the market, and a large supply chain has been formed for the subcomponents for them. On the other hand, the available alloys that can be utilized by the process are limited due to the rapid cooling nature, and this leads L-PBF to get benefits well below its potential. In this study, L-PBF process optimization and microstructure control for novel alloys to have above 99.9% relative density will be discussed on a novel single FCC phase CoFeNiCuMn HEA that demonstrated significantly superior mechanical properties with 550 MPa yield strength, 130 GPa elastic modulus, and very high elongation above 35% as compared to its pair that is produced by conventional casting.
