Abstract Scope Student struggles during the pandemic were well-documented, particularly regarding time management failures, complex living situations, and mental health challenges. We developed a ten-week seminar focusing on time management, wellness, and reflective practice to support students during the pandemic. However, the needs of students were not unique to the pandemic or virtual instruction, so the seminar was adapted to in-person instruction. A new version targeting first-year Materials Science and Engineering students has recently been created. This course integrates success strategies topics with student panels, a workshop on informational interviews, and information on getting involved in undergraduate research. Approximately thirty sections of these courses have been offered since Spring 2020, with favorable student feedback.
