Abstract Scope |
Since the breakthrough of successful creation of high entropy alloys (HEAs) in 2004, research in HEAs has increased exponentially in the past decade. One of the material behavior of interest is the corrosion behavior of HEAs. With the new expanded design space made possible with the concept of HEAs, potentially we can design HEAs with exceptional corrosion behavior. Here, we highlight our work on corrosion behavior of HEAs in the past five years, including the corrosion behavior of AlCoCrFeNi alloys, CoCrFeNiNb alloys, and refractory HEAs in aqueous solution and Hank’s solution, as well as high-throughput experiment. The biomedical application potential of HEAs will also be discussed. |
