Abstract Scope |
III-nitride materials have a direct and wide bandgap that makes them promising candidate for optoelectronic devices with broad emission spectra. In contrast to planar structures, nanowire structures have a higher surface-to-volume ratio that can potentially enhance the optical and electrical performance of III-nitride emitters, especially in the deep ultraviolet regime where the light emission is mainly transverse magnetic-polarized. However, controlling the complex nanowire's growth process remains challenging, resulting in nonuniformity that limits the device's performance and scalability. Here, we explore various fabrication approaches that can potentially create high aspect ratio III-nitride nanowires at the wafer scale. |
