Abstract Scope |
Coffee has a vast possibility of being reused since its post-use waste (coffee grounds) when not disposed of properly causes environmental damage. Thus, the use of coffee grounds as a High-Performance Flooring (HPF) can mean a nobler end of life. This work proposes its use, combined with epoxy resin, to manufacture a composite material capable of being used as HPF. To be classified as HPC in Brazil this composite material shall follow the Brazilian standard NBR14050. Some mechanical, physical and thermal testing were performed to characterize the composite proposed. The results showed that is possible use as HPC in some situations. |
