Abstract Scope |
FormAlloy's Directed Energy Deposition (DED) technology advances the field of additive manufacturing with its capability to create composition gradient materials within complex geometries. Leveraging DEDSmart® technology, FormAlloy enables real-time monitoring and adaptive control, ensuring precise material deposition and transitions between different alloy compositions. This innovative approach allows for the fabrication of end-use parts with tailored properties, enhancing performance and durability in demanding applications. Materials can be varied in any direction, not just in the build or “Z” direction. The advanced sensing capabilities enables repeatability and high-quality builds, which can be more complex to achieve when working with multi-material builds. These advancements not only improve structural integrity and functionality but also open new avenues in aerospace, automotive, and medical industries, where complex, high-performance components are critical. |
