||Leaching of Platinum Group Metals from Automobile Spent Catalyst

The automobile spent catalyst is leached for recovering platinum group metals using oxidizing acid leaching. Hydrogen peroxide is regarded as oxidant and hydrochloric acid as leaching reagent. The experimental results show that the best conditions are as follows: the concentration of hydrochloric acid is 6mol/l, the liquid-solid ratio is 10:1, the reaction temperature is 95°C, the volume ratio of hydrogen peroxide to raw material is 5ml/g, and the reaction time is 2h. Under the above conditions, the leaching ratio of platinum, palladium and rhodium are 93.9%, 99.8% and 86.9%, respectively.. In this study, the platinum group metal is directly recovered from the automobile spent catalyst, achieving a good leaching effect. This provides a feasible method for the effective treatment of the automobile spent catalyst.
