Abstract Scope |
The development of high-capacity cathode is indispensable for realization of advanced LiBs with high energy density. Recently, nanolithia (Li2O)-based materials is considered as a promising cathodes with high capacity. In contrast to commonly known cathode materials, the capacity of the lithia-based cathode is almost purely attributed to the oxygen (anionic) redox reaction between O2- (Li2O) and Ox- (0.5 ≤ X < 2), which leads to superior capacity to commercial cathodes. In this study, the effect of the additives on the electrochemical property of the lithia-based cathode was characterized. It is expected that the addition of additive may increase the available capacity of the lithia based cathode due to the formation of interface layer during cycling. The analysis of the surface of the cathodes containing interface layer derived from additives was performed using XPS to elucidate the effect of the additives. |
