Abstract Scope In this research, the effectiveness of CrSi coatings in preventing oxidation by conducting oxidation tests, including cycle tests, under controlled high-temperature conditions was investigated. The experimental results demonstrate that the deposition of CrSi protective coatings significantly enhances the oxidation resistance of the thermoelectric materials. The coatings effectively inhibit the formation of detrimental oxide layers, thereby preserving the materials' thermoelectric properties. Moreover, the cycle tests reveal the durability and stability of the coatings under thermal stress, indicating their potential for long-term protection. Characterization techniques; scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), were employed to analyze the microstructural changes, elemental composition, and phase transformations in the coatings before and after the oxidation tests. Overall, this study presents promising results for the practical implementation of CrSi protective coatings as a means to safeguard thermoelectric materials against oxidation at high temperatures, thereby extending their lifespan and enhancing their efficiency.
