||Tensile Mechanical Properties of Steel-Al Explosion-bonded Clad Plate

The explosive welding production process results in waveform structure，brittle phase and microcrack at the bonding interface, which affects the plastic forming performance of clad plate seriously. In this research, uniaxial tension tests were carried out firstly on the Steel-Al explosive clad plate specimens with different thickness ratios. The test results show that the uniform elongation and total elongation of the clad plate are both significantly lower than the theoretical values obtained with the composite mixing rules. And then, based on the GTN damage model and shear damage model, the finite element model of tensile specimen of clad plate was established. The uniaxial tensile processes of the specimens in ideal state, with waveform structure, with brittle phase and microcrack at the bonding interface, were simulated respectively. Based on the simulation results, the influence of different interface defects on the elongation were discussed.
