||The Development of Constitutive Parameters for an 1800 MPa Press Hardening Steel

The constitutive behaviour of an Al-Si coated 1800 MPa press hardening steel was determined under hot stamping conditions. Isothermal and non-isothermal tensile tests were conducted using a Gleeble thermal mechanical testing system. The flow response of the material was characterized with a novel high temperature digital image correlation (DIC) procedure and was used to determine the rate- and temperature-dependent constitutive response. Afterwards, a numerical simulation of the tensile test was conducted to validate the accuracy of the constitutive equation. As a baseline comparison, the same process was repeated to characterize a common 22MnB5 steel.
