Abstract Scope |
JX Metals Corporation released “Sustainable Copper Vision” in August 2022, aiming to achieve two missions of offering a stable copper supply system to support growing demand and to manufacture and supply products in a manner that is less environmentally load and more conducive to resource recycling. The concept of “Green Hybrid Smelting”, which is an initiative of this vision, is feeding secondary materials in the main copper smelting and converting process stream so that the reaction heat from concentrate can be effectively utilized to achieve higher recycling ratio. To realize operations based on this concept, we have been trying to increase the recycling ratio, also trying to reduce the CFP for the copper production. The CFP calculation and monitoring procedure has been established in-house and verified by the verification body. This paper will discuss about JX Metals’ approach for sustainable and environmentally friendly copper production and supply. |
