Abstract Scope The local chemical changes at interfaces developed under irradiation affect the performance of in-core components, understanding such changes is of paramount importance. The effect of temperature and irradiation dose on solute’ intergranular segregation in Fe based alloys was reported. However, tendencies towards segregation of different solutes such as Cr and Ni in Fe at same type of interface has scarcely been investigated. This work seeks to delineate solute segregation profiles and their mechanism at Σ3-type grain boundaries (GB) in dilute Fe-3Cr and Fe-3Ni alloys after Fe5+ ion irradiation (2 dpa, 450°C). Atom Probe Tomography, Transmission Electron Microscopy ,Transmission kikuchi Band methodology is employed correlatively to explore the local chemical and structural changes developed at the same Σ3 GB at atomic scale-level. The results obtained in this study demonstrated: (a) segregation profile changes with GB plane normal in Fe-3Ni alloy and (b) formation of α’ phase at Σ3GB.
