Previous work has shown that the warm forming process offers some benefit in terms of increased formability of 7000-series aluminum alloys. In the current work, a parametric study on the effect of the initial temper on subsequent aging and work-hardening behaviour for an AA7075 alloy is completed under room temperature and elevated temperature conditions. Warm constitutive characterization of different pre-aging (PA) schedules is completed using a Gleeble thermo-mechanical testing apparatus with in situ stereoscopic digital image correlation for strain measurement purposes. The PA constitutive response is implemented within the LS-DYNA framework to evaluate the forming response of an optimal PA condition under warm-forming conditions relative to a baseline T6 temper.
