Abstract Scope For industrial use, multicomponent Ni-Al catalysts doped with cobalt, manganese and copper, which are obtained under conditions of thermochemical pressing, are recommended. Intermetallics of the NiAl3, Ni2Al3, NiAl composition obtained under the thermochemical pressing conditions have been studied. It is shown that the intermetallic NiAl3, which, according to the X-ray phase analysis, is a multiphase system comprising Ni, NiAl3 and Ni2Al3, has the highest catalytic activity. As a result of mathematical planning, regression equations were obtained, which describe the effect of cobalt, manganese and copper content on the catalytic properties and porosity of the catalyst and the response surface. The specific surface area of the catalyst was 100...120 m2/g, and porosity – 60...64%.
