Abstract Scope |
Earing is defined as formation of waviness on uppermost portion of deep drawn cup. It is one of the major defects observed during deep drawing process. Based on the significant impact of earing effect on deep drawn cups, the objective of the study is aimed to investigate the influence of the blank-holding force (BHF) on earing defect in the deep-drawing process of square cups through numerical simulation of AA6061 alloy and low carbon steel sheets. For this, AA6061 alloy and low carbon steel sheets data had obtained from the mechanical tests. For simulations, the finite element software PAMSTAMP 2G was used to simulate deep drawing process. Mechanical properties of both sheets such as yield strength, strain hardening exponent, material strength coefficient, plastic strain ratio and deep drawing setup process parameters were used as input for simulation. All the simulations were performed at the same conditions and used as circular cups. |
