The prediction of formability of titanium is more difficult than steels since its strong anisotropy. Recently, using this titanium character actively, functional cup of titanium with corrugated structure was developed by only deep drawing with roller die. If computer simulation can estimate the formability of titanium, we can select the optimal forming processes. In this paper, finite element (FE) simulation of the functional cup of pure titanium were compared with the experimental results to examine the simulation validity. Compared the simulation results with the experimental results such as the forming shape, the punch load, and the thickness, it was concluded that the FE simulations can clarified the formability of functional cup of titanium. |
