The reputation of the flotation process to the economies of the entire industrial world is huge. The method is based on gravity separation employing the idea of applying rising gas bubbles as the transport medium. Usually, following the selective attachment of bubbles to particles, i.e. PGMs. The particles are transferred from the body of water to the surface, where a foam is formed. Xanthate is a collector that is commonly used in flotation processes. Optimizing the dosage amount of this collector in the process is critical as too much will be costly and challenging to remove after the effects. The ultimate idea is to minimize operating costs without compromising the desired valuable mineral recovery and grade. The development of an automated online device for measuring these collector concentrations has been carried out. Accordingly, a technical aptitude for building light-based spectroscopy was developed. The findings are discussed in this paper. |
