Research Progress of the FLiBe Liquid Blanket at the Commonwealth Fusion System |

| Abstract Scope |
In this talk, the recent research progress of the FLiBe liquid blanket at the Commonwealth Fusion System (CFS) will be presented. In the past year, the blanket team at CFS built a clean room at the main campus in which two spaces with different Be safety levels are separated. Two Ar filled gloveboxes were established. One was equipped with high temperature furnaces, molten salt electrochemistry system, and gas sparging system. All FLiBe salt storage and sample preparations are also conducted in this high Be contamination glovebox. To quantify the O and H contents in the FLiBe salt, we developed a decent ONH analyzer system in which the sample loading and heating parts are customized to be installed inside of our second glovebox. In addition, we enhanced the Be safety management in our working area including BeLPT medical screening, rapid Be measurement, and detailed SOPs and so on. |
