Abstract Scope |
In the current study, rare earth extraction from Eskisehir-Beylikova Bastnasite ore was investigated. The calcination of the ore followed by the solvometallurgical leaching was conducted. Effects of the calcination temperature and duration plus ore particle size on leaching were investigated. The mass loss, and extraction efficiencies after the leaching were determined as experimental responses. The experiments were performed based on response surface experimental design, and each calcine was leached using same parameters so that real-time dissolution performance of light rare earths could be monitored. Ethylene glycol was used as leaching media. Leaching experiments using deep eutectic solvent were realized by 0.5 M of FeCl3 and EG with 20 g/L of solid to liquid ratio at 80°C for 6 hours. 75% of light rare earths extraction efficiency was achieved after the calcination. Ce extraction was found to be decreasing at calcination temperatures higher than 500°C. |
