Scope There are several members of AcerS who supervise undergraduate research in ceramics and glass science. This has led to a wealth of methods that are engaging and successful. Yet, it is a topic not discussed in a systematic way within the society.

The scope of this symposium will be presentations on best ways to do undergraduate research in ceramics and glass science. This will include talks/posters on research done at R-1 universities, Primarily Undergraduate Colleges, and Minority Serving Institutions. Presentations are invited on examples of actual research by undergraduates, preparing students for this work, funding opportunities, outputs including papers and presentations at conferences, outcomes for students who participate in undergraduate research, and how to work within an academic environment. Other related topics are invited as well.
