Abstract Scope |
Aiming at the problems of nonuniform deformation of the sheet metal, large differences in the stress state and difficult control of material flow in different parts of the plastic forming of thin-walled parts, this paper presents a sheet metal precision forming method based on subregion flexible-die property control, which regulates the flexible-die property of MR fluid by designing magnetic field distribution to meet the demand of flexible-die performance in different deformation areas of sheet and control the deformation uniformity. Based on the sheet metal bulging test, thin-walled conical part forming test and corresponding numerical simulation, the influence of the several subregion magnetic field patterns on the deformation behavior of the sheet metal,including the stress and strain distribution, thickness distribution, were analyzed. The material flow characteristics and coordination deformation mechanism under the control of subregion flexible-die property were discussed, which showed it an effective method to relieve nonuniform deformation. |
