Abstract Scope |
High strength aluminum sheet has been broadly used in the stamping of automobile parts. Its relatively high strength and low elastic module, as compared to those of low carbon steel sheets, make the spring-back a substantial problem in the bending process. In this paper, the basic V-, L- and U-shape bending processes of AL 6016T4 aluminum sheet with servo-press was investigated. Several slider motions, including single shot, double-pulse and triple pulse, were considered. The effect of the blank holder, including fixed type and movable type, was also investigated. The results show that bending with slider motions of double- and triple-pulse can reduce the spring back, for the movable blank holder. The improvement becomes insignificant for the fixed-type blank holder, attributed to the insufficient constraint during the reversion of pulse motion. |
