Abstract Scope |
In this paper, a hybrid experimental-numerical method was employed to investigate the anisotropic constitutive and fracture behaviors of AZ31B sheet at room temperature under quasi-static condition. Based on uniaxial tension and equi-biaxial tension experiments, the Yld2000-2D anisotropic yield criterion and the combined Swift-Voce hardening rule are calibrated and implemented into ABAQUS/Explicit. Anisotropic ductile fracture behavior is experimentally characterized along different orientations at different loading conditions: two notched-tension, one shear and one combined shear-tension tests. The predictions of adopted plasticity models are compared with the experimentally measured force–displacement curves and surface strain histories from fracture experiments and show a good consistency. Then the MMC criteria of different orientations are calibrated and applied to predict the failure of the identical special-designed specimens machined along different orientations. It's found that strong anisotropy occurs on fracture of AZ31B sheet and the MMC criterion is capable to depict its fracture with a good precision. |
