Abstract Scope |
Impact hydroforming is an advanced forming technology to form the complex shape thin-wall parts with low plasticity materials like aluminum alloys in the aerospace and automotive industry. The liquid dynamic pressure changing to time is the key factor which determines the forming will be a success or not, the peak pressure and the decay time are the two parameters which were used to describe the curve. This paper will investigate how to determinate the peak pressure in an easier and effective way than the complicated and time cost full chain FEM simulation to address the actual manufacture demand. There are two theories now to calculate the peak pressure, one is shock wave theory and the other one is the dynamic compress theory, the paper found that the peak pressure is the bigger one of the values calculated by the two theories and it was verified by experiments. |
