Abstract Scope |
Shear stress also plays great role in deformation of parts with comples shapes. However, the deformation characteristic of material under shear stress cannot be reflected precisely by the popular property tests based on tensile stress. A pure shear test was proposed by the author and it is achieved with special designed tubluar sample and two hemicycle core shafts. Experiments and numerical simulation of pure shear test of tubes were carried out in this paper. Tubular samples with different shapes was used in the experimant and simulation, the distributon uniformity of shear stress was analyzed, the recommended shape of tubular sample was obtained. This test can be used to obtian the shear stress- strain relation and are to be used in simulaiton.
