Abstract Scope |
In high-temperature applications, FeCrAl alloys have long been utilized, but their potential has expanded to include a wider range of uses, such as nuclear and supercritical CO2 applications. This expansion is attributed to the presence of passivating species like Al and Cr, which enhance their desirability. However, for low-temperature applications of ferritic stainless alloys, a concern arises with the formation of alpha prime during aging at temperatures between 400-500 degrees Celsius. In this presentation, we will discuss recent studies conducted on FeCrAl(Mo) alloys, focusing on the effects of Al and Mo on aging and oxidation in steam environments. We will present results from high throughput studies and machine learning analysis, including the use of eXplainable AI, which have proven to be valuable in understanding the impacts of individual elements. |
