Abstract Scope |
The incremental forming process flow forming is used for the production of high geometrical accuracy cylindrical parts. In combination with radial profiling, the flow forming process unites the production of an exact outside diameter on the one hand and the compensation of delivery tolerances of the semi-finished tube product on the other. The aim is to carry out the two forming processes inline in order to use the interaction between the processes and minimize the production time. This allows the production of high-precision components by short cycle times and independent of the delivery tolerances.
This paper contains the necessary calibration of a simulation model for the inline process analysis and optimization of the associated process parameters. First, the two process steps are carried out experimentally one after the other. The simulation model is calibrated with the gained knowledge. Afterwards the inline process chain can be simulated and optimized. |
