Abstract Scope |
The SAF2205 duplex stainless steel was processed by cyclic torsion (CT) deformation and subsequent heat treatment, and the effects of heat treatment temperature and holding time on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties are investigated in the present work. The results show that recovery and recrystallization appear through heat treatment processes. Moreover, the recrystallization phenomenon is gradually obvious in which the original austenite grain size increases and the microhardness decreases with the raising heat treatment temperature. This is because a large number of hardening phases (σ) precipitate at 1073K and dissolve at 1273K-1473K. Simultaneously, at 1073K, the average size of the recrystallization grains increases remarkably and the microhardness increases with the increase of holding time, this is due to the content of the σ phase substantially increasing. |
